Big Value Banners are sponsoring a Shropshire man who will be joining World, Olympic and Ironman medallists to compete in the renowned Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon to raise money for two local charities.
The race is considered one of the most difficult triathlons in the world and starts with a 1½ mile swim in icy waters surrounding Alcatraz Island. This is then followed by an 18 mile bike ride through the streets of San Francisco and an 8 mile run, including the notorious 400 steps Equinox Sand Ladder.
Shrewsbury resident Rob Kerr will be competing in the prestigious event to raise much needed funds for Severn Hospice and the RSPCA Gonsal Farm Animal Centre.
